Warmer weather is here and school is out. If you’re looking for fun places to splash around this summer, Hendricks County Parks have great options!
The Watermill Splash Pad at Williams Park in Brownsburg is free and open every day from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. this summer. It has fun water features for all ages. Bring a picnic and enjoy some fun in the sun!
Washington Township Park in Avon also has a free splash pad with a playground nearby. The splash pad is open from noon to 8 p.m. Monday-Friday and from 10:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. on weekends. There are shade sails, attached restrooms, picnic facilities, and seating available.
Another place to check out is the Gill Family Aquatic Center at Ellis Park in Danville. Features include a zero-depth area, water slides, lazy river, diving board, and a splash pad. The Aquatic Center is open from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday-Saturday and from noon to 7 p.m. on Sunday until August 7th, 2018. Memberships are available.
The free splash pad at Hummel Park in Plainfield is open from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. every day from May to August. It is intended for children 12 and under.
Splash Island in Plainfield features a lazy river, zero-depth entry, deck space, basketball pool, slides, and diving boards. Open daily from May 25 through July 31, 2018 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday-Saturday and from noon to 6 p.m. on Sunday. In August, hours change to weekends only.
