Did you know that a honeybee usually visits between 50-100 flowers when collecting nectar to make honey? (Busy bee, indeed!)
Honeybees are fascinating creatures, and there’s a lot to learn about them. McCloud Nature Park is hosting their third annual Honeybee Festival on Saturday, August 25th from 1:00-4:00 p.m. You can find the park at 8518 Hughes Road in North Salem, Indiana.
The Honeybee Festival is all about celebrating the importance of pollinators. There will be a variety of games and activities at this free event. The Bee House observation hives make it easy to safely view honeybees within a hive environment. Curious about backyard beekeeping? You’ll have the chance to learn from master beekeepers at this event.
Vendor booths will have a variety of interesting honey products, so you might want to plan to start your holiday shopping a bit early in support of the bees! This event is open to the community and no advance registration is required. Enjoy learning more about the exciting lives of honeybees at McCloud Nature Park!
