The Town of Browburg’s annual “Let’s Give” food drive will take place from November 2nd through December 4th.
The food drive helps a local food pantry keep a stock of non-perishable food items through the holiday season. The following food item donations are suggested:
- Peanut butter
- Oatmeal
- Cereal
- Canned meat, chicken, and tuna
- Canned or dry soup
- Boxed or canned potatoes
- Macaroni & cheese
- Rice
- Pasta
- Pasta sauce
- Canned fruit, vegetable, and beans
Last year’s food drive collected over 2,200 food items for neighbors in need.
You can donated canned and packaged items in the Brownsburg Town Hall lobby between 7:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. on weekdays between November 2nd and December 4th. Collected items will be taken to the Messiah Lutheran Food Pantry. The pantry served approximately 725 Hendricks County families with over 2,000 boxes of food in 2014.
The Messiah Lutheran Food Pantry distributes between 40 and 60 boxes of food on Saturday mornings. The greatest times of need are the month of November and December.
If weekday hours don’t fit in your schedule, the MOMS Club of Avon/Brownsburg will be volunteering at the Brownsburg Town Hall to collect donated items on Sunday, November 22nd. Drop off your food donations between 1 and 4 p.m. Brownsburg Park B.A.S.E. sites will also accept donations from students who are enrolled in the program.
You can also make donations of clothing and non-perishable food items to the Storehouse at Bethesda Baptist Church. The Storehouse is open to anyone who needs it on Wednesdays from 4:30 to 8:30 p.m. The Storehouse is located between the Bethesda Baptist Church building and Bethesda Christian School at 7950 North County Road 650E in Brownsburg.
