If Spring Break caught you unawares or you’re on a tight budget this year, you’re probably looking for fun family activities close to home. Happily for you, the town of Brownsburg has plenty of great family fun on deck this spring!
Picnic in the Park
Stop by your favorite local grocery and pick up deli meals or fun snacks, then head to one of our beautiful local parks to spend an afternoon soaking up some rays–but don’t forget the sunblock! Bring along a Frisbee to start a pick up game, find some friends to play kickball with, blow bubbles, play on the playground, get inventive with follow the leader (frog hops? ballerina leaps?), walk around the park, or just enjoy some relaxing time reading together.
Reconnect with Nature
Natural Valley Ranch offers the opportunity to get up close and personal with farm animals at their petting zoo. Older children may enjoy a short trail ride with the family. Details available at Natural Valley Ranch’s website.
Catch a Movie
Brownsburg Public Library is showing “Hop” at 10 a.m. on March 26 for preschool-school age children. The comedy is centered around the tale of a slacker who injures the Easter Bunny and nurses him back to health.
Spring Break is also a great time to take in a matinee. Check out the Brownsburg 8 showtime schedule here.
Get Crafty
Pick up a craft kit from a local store or have a mini Easter egg dying competition in your kitchen. Spend an afternoon teaching the kids how to recreate one of their favorite family recipes. On Monday, March 23rd, 6-13 year olds may enjoy leaning how to create Star Wars-themed origami at Brownsburg Public Library. Register here.
Go on a Scavenger Hunt
Check out the printable available here or create your own list of things to search for. After exploring the town, treat yourselves to lunch or dessert at a restaurant you haven’t tried yet.
