Step back into time in the charming town of North Salem, Indiana on Labor Day weekend. This year marks the 44th Annual North Salem Old Fashion Days event, which kicks off with a smorgaboard breakfast on Saturday, August 31st and continues through Monday, September 2nd.
The popular breakfast begins at 7:00 a.m. at the United Methodist Church on Main Street. Don’t miss the Old Fashion Days parade at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. This is the largest parade in Hendricks County and features lots of candy! Plan to arrive early as parking will fill up quickly.
Following the parade, children’s activities will open and remain so for the remainder of the event, including a bounce house, pony rides, and more. Enjoy live music and performances throughout the three-day event, which also features a variety of fun contests. Here’s a sneak peek:

See beautiful quilts at the quilt show, check out antique tractors on display, and watch the pets of Hendricks County in the pet parade. There’s also a daily 50/50 raffle drawing.
You can participate in the annual 5k or 10k run and walk on Labor Day, beginning at 9:00 a.m. All registered runners and walkers receive a free breakfast with valid meal ticket. The course is out-and-back on beautiful country roads.
The Old Fashion Days Bicycle Tour, sponsored by Gear Up Cyclery, provides a great way to explore Northwest Hendricks County by bike. There are two route options: 11 miles and 34 miles.
