Have a true farm-to-table experience at McCloud Nature Park during the 11th Annual Maple Syrup Days event on March 6th and 13th, 2021.
Each year, the sugar maple trees at the park produce sap with high sugar content. Staff and volunteers collect this sap each day. It is placed in an evaporator when it becomes maple syrup.
What to Expect
You can see the entire process from sap collection to evaporation at this event. The 2021 event will be held on March 6th and 13th from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. each day.
You’ll learn how to identify trees in the winter and how Native Americans first made maple syrup. You can even tap a tree yourself before visiting the Sugar Shack to see the evaporator in action as it condenses hundreds of gallons of sap into maple syrup.
100% pure McCloud Maple Syrup will be available to purchase and take home to enjoy. All proceeds will benefit Hendricks County Parks.
