Celebrate and learn about honeybees at the fourth annual Honeybee Fest at McCloud Nature Park. The 2019 event will take place on Saturday, August 24th from 1:00-4:00 p.m.
This free community event includes games, activities, and vendor booths featuring great honey products. Master beekeepers will teach the backyard beekeeping basics.
You can see honeybees at work in the Bee House observation hives. The Bee House is a live hive that is home to tens of thousands of honeybees. You can watch the bees through windows on each side of the structure.
Honeybees are important members of the agricultural community. They can fly for up to six miles and move as fast as 15 miles per hour. It take nectar from two million flowers to make a single pound of honey. You’ll have the opportunity to get answers to all of your questions about bees and to learn even more at this year’s Honeybee Fest!
McCloud Nature Park is located at 8518 Hughes Road in North Salem, Indiana. The Honeybee Fest is free to attend (although you may want to bring cash in case you decide to buy a treat or make a purchase from a vendor!) and is appropriate for all ages. Stop by anytime between 1:00-4:00 p.m. to celebrate!
