Did you know Hendricks County has several disc golf courses to choose from? The Hendricks County Disc Golf Club plans leagues, tournaments, special events, and workshops, so if you’re interested in playing disc golf, this is a great place to start!
Disc golf is a great way to get exercise while meeting new people and enjoying the many amenities offered in Hendricks County.
Disc Golf Training
Are you interested in learning how to play disc golf? The Hendricks County Disc Golf Club is hosting a training seminar in partnership with Hendricks County Parks and Recreation on Saturday, October 23, 2021, from 2:00-4:00 p.m. at W.S. Gibbs Memorial Park.
The training will cover proper course safety habits and the basics of throwing a disc. You’ll also learn about the differences in types of discs as well as general gear. The event will include hands-on practice and a “ring of fire” competition with prizes!
This event is recommended for teenagers and adults. Younger kids may attend but must be accompanied by adults. All skill levels are welcome. It is free to attend, but you’ll need to register here in advance.
Hendricks County Disc Golf Courses
W.S. Gibbs Memorial Disc Golf Course is part of the newest Hendricks County Park. It is a par 60 with long holes, short wooded holes, and holes that tee up atop a 30-foot sledding hill. It’s a beautiful course with great variety and 18 holes. There’s a summer league on Thursdays.
Northwest Community Park in Brownsburg has an 18 hole disc golf course. The course was built and is maintained by Parkside Bible Church. There are no leagues.
Avon Town Hall Park Disc Golf Course
This is a family-friendly open course operated by Avon Parks and Recreation. There are 9 holes.
The Master’s Disc Golf Course
Located in Plainfield behind Calvary Church, this 9 hole course offers enough shot alteration that it plays like 18 holes. There’s a summer league on Tuesdays.You can learn more about each course and the Hendricks County Disc Golf Club at www.hcdgc.com.
