Hendricks County 4-H Fair Events

IMG_6327Summer is in full swing, which means it’s almost time for the annual Hendricks County 4-H Fair! Where else can you see an alligator show, BMX stunts, and a queen pageant in the same week?

From livestock shows to handcrafted items, be sure to take a look at the skills that Hendricks County 4-H members are learning and polishing this year. Then take a stroll to find your favorite carnival foods, rides, and games while listening to live music and other entertainment.

Athletic Endeavors

Get active before eating that funnel cake! The 2016 Hendricks County 4-H Fair includes the third annual 5k run/walk. All entrants receive a free one day entry to the fair. Click here to learn how to register. This event benefits Indiana Special Olympics.

The 2016 Hendricks County Olympics will be held on Wednesday, July 20th at 7 p.m. at the fairgrounds. Teams of four participate in events include nut & bolt match, item sorting, straw bale toss, pen the pig, and wheel barrow.

Pioneer Village

The Hendricks County Antique & Machinery Association is hosting Pioneer Day at the fair. Events include a hot dog eating contest, baked fruit pie judging, homemade ice cream judging, and a kids pedal tractor pull. Enter to win a first place ribbon and bragging rights! Pioneer Village will include corn shelling and a straw maze in addition to blacksmith and small engine demonstrations throughout the week.

The Hendricks County 4-H has plenty of fun activities for the entire family. Here are just a few highlights to check out:

  • Blueberry contest
  • Antique tractor games
  • Cheerleading contest
  • Baked goods auction
