The annual Christmas on the Square event in Danville will run a little differently this year, but you can still see the tree lighting and celebrate the holiday season!
The event will be held on Friday, November 27th, 2020 from 4:00-6:00 p.m. There will be no holiday characters or carolers this year, and some attractions such as inflatables and the trackless train will not be present due to concerns for everyone’s health and safety.
New this year, local businesses, organizations, and individuals will decorate large plywood postcards. These postcards will be displayed around the square to add to the festive atmosphere.
Christmas on the Square Tree Lighting
Santa will remotely light the tree and the lights above the square at 6:00 p.m. Event organizers are planning to livestream the tree lighting so you can watch from the comfort of your couch!
The Danville United Methodist Church live nativity scene will be located at the intersection of Marion and Washington Streets.
Downtown Danville merchants and restaurants will be open during the event. Take a stroll around to see the decorated windows and support local businesses!
