Do you want to volunteer in the community and spend more time outdoors? The Brownsburg Parks Weed Wrangle® might be the perfect opportunity!
What is Weed Wrangle®?
Weed Wrangle® is part of a national initiative to remove invasive plants from public spaces, including parks. Brownsburg Parks, Southern Indiana Cooperative Invasive Management, and Hendricks County Invasive Management Cooperative are partnering to remove invasive plants from the parks.
The U.S. Forest Service reports that invasive plants have contributed to the decline of 42% of U.S. endangered and threatened species. Invasive plants can degrade wildlife habitats, decrease plant diversity, decrease water quality, and increase soil erosion. Removing invasive plants is one of the most effective ways to fight these effects.
