Relay for Life is the American Cancer Society’s annual 24 hour fundraiser. The Brownsburg Relay for Life will begin at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 16th and will close at 9:30 a.m. on Sunday, May 17th. Relay for Life will be held on the Brownsburg Town Hall Green.
The event celebrates those who have battled cancer, remembers those who are no longer with us, and raises money for cancer research. The Brownsburg event raised about $85,000 last year and is aiming to raise over $90,000 in 2015. So far the event has collected over $51,000.
Relay for Life is a great community event and includes many fun activities and performances for all ages. The event includes a Survivors Lap for those who have survived cancer as well as a beautiful Luminaria Ceremony that honors those who have or are fighting cancer while remembering those who have passed away.
Community members are encouraged and invited to attend and support the fundraising event. There are a number of upcoming community events to help raise funds for Brownsburg’s Relay for Life, including:
Reagan Elementary’s Marco’s Pizza Fundraiser: A portion of your purchase will be donated to Regan Elementary’s Relay team when you present a team flier on Tuesday, May 12th.
Applebee’s #WeGotThis Team Fundraiser: Applebee’s will donate 15% of the bill for dine in customers to Brownsburg’s Relay for Life on Thursday, May 14th when presented with flier.
Cardinal Elementary Wyliepalooza Fundraiser: A portion of proceeds on Thursday, May 14th will be donated to Relay for Life.
