Enjoy a beautiful bicycle tour through Hendricks County that includes portions of the B&O Trail in addition to scenic countryside. This event takes place on September 19, 2020 at Williams Park in Brownsburg.
The 2020 B&O Bicycle Tour is sponsored by Hendricks Regional Health. Participants can choose from 12-, 25-, 45-, or 67-mile loops before enjoying lunch and live music.
Tour Details
Due to physical distancing, there will be no mass start of cyclists at specific times. Sign in will begin at 7:00 a.m. and riders may depart as soon as they have completed check in, prepared their bikes, and put on their helmets. The first 300 riders to check in will receive a souvenir water bottle.
SAG vehicles will be on the routes to help with minor mechanical issues or fatigue. The routes are marked on the roads and maps are provided as a backup. BOI mechanics will be available to answer any mechanical questions and assist with pre-ride inspections.
Bicycle Routes
12 miles: This is an easygoing, flat ride on the B&O Trail that is ideal for beginning cyclists and families. There is a refreshment stop about halfway through the route.
25 miles: This ride is a mix of the B&O Trail and county roads. Enjoy refreshments and live music at the SAG stop at Maplewood before returning to Williams Park.
45 miles: This route starts out like the 25-miler and continues west to the SAG stop at Perillo’s Pizzeria in North Salem before returning to the Maplewood stop and on to Williams Park.
67 miles: This route is also a combination of the B&O Trail and country roads. After the Maplewood SAG stop, continue to the SAG stop at McCloud Nature Park, then to an additional SAG stop at Roachdale Town Park. On the return trip, there will be a SAG stop at Perillo’s Pizzeria in North Salem.
B&O Bicycle Tour 2020
Pit Stop Barbecue & Grill will provide a catered lunch for all participants. Schwan’s Frozen Foods is providing a frozen treat. Aqua Systems donated water and Piazza Produce provided fruit.
