Gallery on the Square in Danville is hosting the 4th Annual Plein Air Paint Out on Saturday, August 14, 2021.
Plein air painting is the practice of painting outdoors with the subject in full view. This technique was first popularized in France. The plein air paint out event is a great way for Hendricks County artists to be inspired by the beauty of the area.
Artists Paint the Town Schedule
The event begins with check in at the Hendricks County 4-H Fairgrounds from 7:30-10:00 a.m. Artists will enjoy breakfast and pick up a goodie bag! Up to 3 canvases can be stamped here; one may be turned in for judging.
All completed art must be turned in at the Fairgrounds by 2:30 p.m. A table and tools are provided for framing your creation. Light afternoon refreshments will be served while artwork is judged from 3:00-4:00 p.m.
The public is invited to view the completed art at the Hendricks County Fairgrounds from 4:00-5:00 p.m. Cash awards will be presented to artists at 4:30 p.m.
