Fall is a busy and fun time in Hendricks County. From the changing leaves to the crisp morning air, it’s a delightful season to spend time outdoors with family and friends.
There are a number of fantastic fall activities taking place in early October throughout Hendricks County. This week, let’s take a look at what’s happening in Danville!
Beasley’s Heartland Apple Festival
Beasley’s Orchard is hosting the 29th annual Heartland Apple Festival on the first two weekends in October from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. each day. Enjoy great food, live music, a puppet show, pumpkin patch hayrides, hay mountain, and a variety of arts and crafts. There will also be a Barnyard Bonanza kid’s activity zone in addition to an 8 acre corn maze. This year’s corn maze theme commemorates the 50th anniversary of “It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown.”
Celebrate the apple harvest by enjoying a hand-dipped caramel apple, homemade apple butter, fresh pressed apple cider, or even apple dumplings. Get details and entertainment lineup information here.
Danville Scarecrow Display
Local businesses, organizations, and individuals work to create their most innovative scarecrow and enter it in the Danville Scarecrow Display. The scarecrows are displayed around the Hendricks County Courthouse Square throughout the entire month of October, beginning on October 1st.
Indiana Short Film Festival
The Royal Theater is hosting the Indiana Short Film Festival from October 7th-9th. Filmmakers from all over the globe submit short films to this event.
