This area is beautiful all year round, but there’s something particularly special about autumn in Central Indiana. The leaves are just starting to turn. Pumpkin flavored coffee drinks are being consumed. Harvest season is here, and that means it’s apple picking time in Hendricks County!
From Labor Day weekend through October, you can pick your own apples at Beasley’s Orchard. The orchard is located at 2304 E Main Street in Danville.
The orchard grows 21 different types of apples on more than 4,000 trees. You can learn about each apple variety here.
33rd Annual Heartland Apple Festival
In addition to you pick apples and a variety of fun activities, Beasley’s Orchard hosts the annual Heartland Apple Festival, which is one of Hendricks County’s oldest traditions. The event features live music, a corn maze, food vendors, local craft vendors, and lots of activities at the barnyard bonanza.
If you’d prefer to buy apples that are picked before you arrive, you can stop in the farm market. There are also apple cider slushies, cookies, dumplings, and caramel apples available for purchase. Beasley’s Orchard was also just recognized for having the state’s best apple cider!
The orchard hosts several events throughout the season. You can see the latest information here.
