You’ll find delicious dining options throughout Brownsburg and Hendricks County all year long, but June is an exceptional time for good local food. Local produce is readily available, the Thursday Farmers Market is hopping, and there are two major food-centric events: Taste of Hendricks County and the Hendricks County Rib Fest.
2015 Taste of Hendricks County
This year’s Taste of Hendricks County event will be held on Thursday, June 18th from 5-8 p.m. at The Palms Banquet and Conference Center in Plainfield. Over twenty local restaurants will be participating in the annual event, including: Heidi Pops, Cunningham Restaurant Group, Yat’s, Dawson’s Too, Chateau Thomas Winery, Salsa Verde, Sun King Brewery, and many more.
Advance tickets can be purchased at a number of locations for $25. Tickets are $30 at the door. All of the proceeds from the event benefit the Hendricks County Community Foundation and Leadership Hendricks County.
Hendricks County Rib Fest
Celebrate summer at the 11th annual Hendricks County Rib Fest on Saturday, June 27 from 4-10 p.m. Local restaurants will compete for the titles of “Best Ribs” and “Best Sauce” at the event, which takes place at Kingsway Christian Church in Avon. Enjoy live entertainment, games, and plenty of food and fun for everyone!
Vendors and booths will open at 4 p.m. and the Pacers Fan Van will be at Rib Fest from 5:30-7:30. The event also includes a blood drive, a kid’s fun run, and the Rib Run 5k. A fireworks show will take place at dark.
