Brownsburg’s popular Bow Wow Bash is back for the sixth year on Saturday, September 10th, 2016. This eagerly anticipated event is a day of fun for dogs and their humans.
Held at Williams Park, the Bow Wow Bash is Hendricks County’s largest adoption event. If you’ve been searching for a pet, it could be your lucky day! Bow Wow Bash is also a fundraiser for Misty Eyes Animal Center, Hendricks County’s only no kill shelter. Misty Eyes is raising funds to help build a permanent facility in Brownsburg.
The Bow Wow Bash begins at 10 a.m. and continues until 3 p.m. Vendors and food booths will be on site all day. Temporary dog parks will be set up. A silent auction will be held until 2 p.m. and the adoption event will go on throughout the entire event. A Pet Blessing Ceremony will be given by D. Gray Lesesne at 11 a.m. You’ll also enjoy live music and a pet agility course.
The popular dog contests will take place between noon and 1:30 p.m. These entertaining dog competitions include categories such as “Best Dressed,” “Best Team Theme Costumes,” “Best Kisser,” “Best Talent,” and “Best of Show.” If your dog knows a cool trick or you have a fun owner/pet costume idea, be sure to enter!
The Paws on Parade pet parade will begin at 2:15 p.m., followed by the Misty Eyes Ball Drop at 3:00 p.m. This popular event is the grand finale of the Bow Wow Bash. 200 tennis balls are dropped from a Brownsburg Fire Truck. A retriever will be released to choose the winning ball. The winner of this contest will receive a prize pack including a one night stay at the Marriott Renaissance Indianapolis North Hotel with a breakfast buffet for two, two tickets to the Indianapolis Zoo, two box seats to an Indianapolis Indians Game, two Brickyard Crossing Golf certificates, and a $50 restaurant gift card.
