The 23rd Annual B&O Bicycle Tour offers Hendricks County residents and visitors the opportunity to slow down and explore the beauty of Hendricks County on two wheels. The event is held in early June each year. This year’s B&O Bicycle Tour will take place on Saturday, June 6, 2015 beginning at 7:00 a.m.
The B&O Trail benefits Hendricks County residents by providing a safe and visually appealing environment for outdoor activities such as cycling, running, walking, and more. The Baltimore & Ohio Railroad line was abandoned in 1989. In 1994, Rail Corridor Development, Inc. (now the B&O Trail Association) and Hendricks County Trail Development, Inc. began the campaign to convert the abandoned railway into a rail-trail for local communities.
When completed, the proposed trail will connect Indianapolis to Montezuma, Indiana, providing an extensive trail system that encourages families to get active and brings benefits to several communities. Click here to view the map of the completed trail section in Brownsburg.
The annual B&O Trail Bicycle Tour raises funds for building the trail. Whether you’re a beginner or an avid cyclist you will find a route that fits your skill level. Helmets are required for all cyclists. Lunch and entertainment will be provided after the ride. Registration is $25 per person or $55 per family.
Register here and support a great local cause while getting outside this Saturday!
