Hendricks County residents can properly dispose of household hazardous waste during the Hendricks County Recycling District’s Tox-Away Day events, which are held throughout the year. Tox-Away Days are collection events for chemicals, bulbs, batteries, medicines, medical sharps, tires, electronics, appliances, and more.
What Not to Bring
Do not bring water-based paints, heavy trash items, traditional recyclables, or documents to shred to Tox-Away Day events. Asbestos, explosives, lab chemicals, firearms, ammunition, radioactive material, and infectious material are not accepted.
Fees
You can dispose of most items for free at Tox-Away Day events. However, there are fees for the disposal of certain items, such as televisions, tires (the first four are free for passenger vehicles and trucks), and large appliances. You can make your payment with cash or check.
