The 43rd Annual North Salem Old Fashion Days event will take place this Labor Day weekend, September 1st through September 3rd. North Salem is located in northwest Hendricks County.
The event kicks off at 7 a.m. on Saturday with a smorgasboard breakfast at the United Methodist Church on Main Street. The Old Fashion Days Parade, which is the largest parade in Hendricks County, begins at 11 a.m. on Saturday. There will be a pork chop dinner from 10:30 a.m. through 3 p.m. at North Salem Christian Church.
This popular annual event seeks to capture the spirit of days gone by with a variety of fun games and activities, including:
- Horse pull
- Car show
- Bed race
- Pie contest
- Truck pull
- Kiddie tractor pull
There will be a number of food and craft vendors with items available for purchase. Live entertainment includes great bands as well as the Hendricks County Chorus and Hendricks County Line Dance. A new event has been added this year: lawn and garden tractor drag race.
